“My brother purchased a time share here at Velas 18 years ago and we have been enjoying it ever since! Velas is a beautiful property, the staff is incredible and the rooms are really nice and clean! It's so fun coming year after year and seeing familiar faces on property. This year Marlena the concierge booked us on the Pirate Ship and it was a total blast! She is so sweet and helpful and happy! “We had a great time at Velas. The room was fantastic and the people were great. We got a little bit of them trying to sell us on things (time share), but they were not insistent.
We tried our best to tip well and were treated very well, but I feel like they would have treated us that way regardless. They gave us everything we asked for and were always courteous and kind. We had no issue with language (we're native English speakers) and got to toy around with our Spanish.
The food was great; my kids especially liked breakfast at the outdoor restaurant. Sweet breads and muffins, refried beans, scrambled eggs and mountains of bacon.
We opted for the all inclusive version and utilized the room service at no extra charge. In the future I would do that again more often. Kids want to stay in the room and play games and watch TV after a long day out and about? Sure! We'll get you a pizza/burger/nachos/burrito/etc while Mom and I go to a nice sit down meal alone and enjoy our time.”
