“I travel throughout New England for work and am a Best Western Diamond rewards member. With the exception of my stay at the Waterville, Maine location my expectations have always been exceeded at every Best Western location I’ve stayed at( have Stayed 20 plus times over the last 7 months). Usually the hotel is clean and inviting, has friendly competent staff, easy access doors, facility smells nice and so on. My experience at Best Western Waterville was far different than what I have experienced at many of their other locations. First, I had difficulty getting into my room as neither key worked, I called to front desk and was told someone would be up with a key that worked. A gentleman came up asked for my 2 keys and tried them( they didn’t work). He then used the key he had and opened the door, he mentioned to me to keep the keys away from electronics ( referencing my cell phone). I let him know I had tried the keys as soon as I arrived at the room( had not taken my cell phone out of my purse to call front desk until after trying keys). Shortly after that, I grabbed one of the hotel carts to bring my work bags up to my room. If you are trying to enter the hotel through any door other than the front with luggage on a cart( good luck). It is impossible to hold the door open, push the cart over the hump at the threshold and actually get inside the hotel(was not impressed). Also, as mentioned in other reviews the hallways and elevators do not give a good first impression and they are smelly( very strong cleaning agent present) as if they are trying to mask some pungent odor. Fortunately the room was surprisingly clean and the bed was comfortable. I was relieved the room did not reek of the smell in the hallways and elevator as I would have had to make other lodging arrangements. On a positive note, breakfast was offered and there was an indoor heated pool. The reason I have utilized Best Western up to this point is that they have offered great amenities. They have offered a clean, inviting space in the common areas as well as individual rooms. This location just was not on par with what I have experienced at other Best Western locations, I’m hopeful I don’t run upon another location like this.”

“DO NOT STAY HERE. If I could give this place zero stars I would. First, the hotel grounds are not well kept. The landscape is over grown and there were people outside the hotel openly drinking alcohol when we arrived. I wasn't sure if they were hotel employees on break or just a bunch of random people hanging out. As we parked we noticed multiple families/groups of people who appeared to be living out of their cars and entering the hotel. One car had a TV, small dresser and other household items in the car in addition to an open bottle of ketchup and mustard on the dashboard. Many of these people appeared disheveled. Upon entering the hotel you get hit with the cigarette smell. Our room had blood stained sheets and was just not clean. During our two night stay our room was not serviced once. During one of the nights there was a very loud party either on the first floor or courtyard. The party was from approximately 11pm-6:30am with consistently loud music and people yelling/talking over the music. We also paid over $250 a night (traveled this month – July 2022) which I thought was extremely high for a Best Western and considering the location. Now that I read others reviews and the prices they paid it makes it seem like we were totally scammed. When the “owner” responds to my post, instead of thanking me for my feedback and stating you’ll use it to improve how you service customers, how about take some type of REAL action? Get rid of the crackheads, meth heads and homeless people staying on the first floor. Train and hire employees that care. Attempt to make the hotel look presentable. OR just shut it down all together. This was not a safe place for children to stay, unless you want them to get hepatitis. When customers complain, rectify it instead of passing the buck with blanket statements like “for further assistance, please don't hesitate to let us know”.”
